Me and the work homie Sophie took home some hardware at the local 5k trail race in Ocala today; both of us winning our age groups.

I’m not trying to brag (lie) but I think that not only was this my fastest 5k in over a decade, it is probably in my top 4 or 5 fastest 5k times ever. Being that I am not a short distance runner, do not practice running fast, and will be 50 in a few months, I’m pretty stoked having run a 23:22 which is a 7:40 mile.

Here’s the thing, I hear a lot of Charlie Brown school teacher wamp about “I’m too old, I’m too fat, I’m too this or that”; not just about fitness but about anything that requires any type of discipline or might be difficult in any way.

I don’t know man, I have never been too old or too anything to be a bad bitch, I just keep getting badder ass every fucking year because I don’t run bullshit narratives in my mind that limit my growth and productivity.

The older I get, the more I believe and understand just how fucking capable I AM. If you are too old or too whatever, rewrite your narrative; you ARE NOT a “limit”, you are capable of whatever you want, but until you ditch your own bullshit narratives then ain’t nothing finna change.

I guess it comes down to questioning why you would ever be okay with being less than you could be….. why would you choose to be a basic bitch or a basic MF if you could be a bad bitch or bad ass MF; seems counterproductive to the point of being Alive.

That’s my two cents, if you don’t like it: there’s a button for that
