NICARAGUA – 2026 – I quite enjoyed San Jorge as well. This is the small town where the Ferry terminal is located. I used the same hotel on both my To-&-From Ometepe. The transportation and hotel arrangements I made this time were impeccable and I had a stress-free experience; I will use the same hotel and transportation services next year when I go to run the 50K. YES, I must go back and do the next longest distance.
I went on two amazing 6-mile runs in San Jorge; it was low key with a chill vibe. I had the best Tostones of my trip from a restaurant right next to the ferry terminal which was run by an Italian guy.
I was able to take photos of myself in same location within hours of each other and it is truly incredible that the position of the sun can completely change what we see and how we see it. What an incredible thing it is to be alive and see these changes through each passing day, noticing more intricacies with every exposure.

From the Playa you could see the whole profile of Ometepe which is magnificent; There is also a photo of Ometepe’s profile in 2015 with Rob in it. I have been to a lot of cities around the world, they are fun and interesting for a day, maybe two, but obscure laid-back locations are the best. I get lost to the world and find pieces of myself in places like Ometepe. There is nothing bougee about it and that it what makes it so great.

Also included are several other items of interest to me.
